Abilene, Texas - Shreveport, Louisiana

Woke up to a warm and sunny morning. Decided to pack up and get on the road early. We stopped for a quick breakfast at around 8:00 am. Got some "to-go" coffees and continued our eastward journy across the great state of Texas.

Not to upset anyone who calls Texas home ... but, we couldn't find too much we wanted to see in Texas. Maybe it's the route we're taking, I-20 east. We even went into Dallas ... just another BIG city. There's a lot of shopping malls and such for shoppers. There's lots of museums and cultural centers as well as art centers, zoos and cemetaries ... but nothing that struck our fancy. Maybe we are getting to the point that we're wanting to get home. This is mostly what we saw through Texas.

We stopped at this Whataburger outside of Dallas. We haven't seen one of these in years. The folks here were so nice. The burgers were delicious. You guys are great ... Thanks for the coupons. Wish we had these in North Carolina.

Yea! We made it to Louisiana.

Had to take a picture of the flutterby at the information center and pick up a "Room-Saver" magazine.

We stopped for the night at the KOA in Shreveport, Louisiana ... One of the best KOAs we've seen. Super nice facilities.

We decided to try a cabin tonight instead of setting up the tent.

These cabins are great ... very cozy.

Complete with air conditioning and color TV with cable and of course wifi.

For supper we had two pounds of steamed shrimp and cold beer ... Yumo!

Sorry there weren't many pictures today ... Just couldn't find anything that we felt was photo-worthy. Hopefully we'll do better tomorrow.

Tonight we are going to take it easy and relax in our little log cabin ... Ahhh Nice! Until tomorrow ... Good Night!
